Absolutely on the scrolling blackhole!!! I have had pockets of time just disappear before my eyes. I am finding my challenge at the moment is how do I start/run a small business and engage with my community without spending excessive amounts of time on my phone.

Love the term un-Google-able ❤

Look forward to seeing what exciting things you get up to this year.

Hi Jodi! I know, that's the eternal question I've struggled with for years. It's so hard to find the balance. One thing that I'm so grateful for is that eventually photography work came to me via word of mouth or returning clients. But I can't help but start new projects that need promo. I'm not sure I ever really found the magic answer to how to engage in these platforms without them swallowing you up. 🧡

Haha! I think I may have borrowed 'un-Google-able' from one of Catie's podcasts too. Her work is a gold mine of inspiration.

I look forward to getting to the word of mouth/ returning clients spot 😊 Lol, yes, it is the challenge of the creative, especially those that want to try everything, aka us 😂🤣 A good challenge to have though 😁

I must revisit Catie's Podcast, I have it my list.

Oh Nat, I'm not a creator but the consumer in me has gotten too much power. Just last night I journalled about my need to read more books, spend even more time in nature - bring on autumn i don't cope with the heat - and create more, knit more, crochet more, stitch more. I'm so burnt out, I no longer want to know every minute detail about every man and their dog nor even all the world politics, my nervous system just can't take it anymore.

I am very excited to continue with your postcard club and to read your next installment here.

I am reading Juice at the moment and hooboy is it giving me a wake up shake up.

until next time

cheers Kate

Thanks so much for your comment Kate. I totally agree, I don't think our nervous systems evolved to cope with such an information bombardment every day.

I hope you enjoy autumn - it sounds like you have plenty of excellent ideas to help you restore your nervous system.

Thanks so much for being a Clubbie! Awesome to see you on both platforms. I really appreciate your support. 🧡

Love it Nat, thank you… I too love the Reskilliance podcast. Digital distractions are a big thing for me too this year and pretty much setting the scene for other activity. I’m amping up my love of book reading (physical books over digital, but if not possible, I’m flex) and jazzing things up a bit..fiction/non-fiction/fiction/non-fiction. Dusting off the CD and vinyl collection to avoid overpriced streaming services is something I’m embracing. Personally, I’m spending more time on my meditation practice and exploring the myriad of techniques born from the different vehicles of Buddhism. I’m spending more time being in the moment…and have become a member of the recently launched Huon She Shed..a good time to start learning woodwork skills. There is SO MUCH out there to be done, my job as the disaster resilience coordinator for the Aust. Red Cross down here in Tassie has revitalised my passion for our communities and reminds me everyday the good that humans do so well in looking after each other. Have a beaut day and I look forward to Part.2. Take care, Tash x

Sounds awesome Tash, very cool to hear you're dusting off the physical media. Your meditation practice, the She Shed, and your work all sound like really great outlets for engaging your hands (and whole being) in something meaningful.. you'll be too busy (!) to be bothered with scrolling. Amazing! I think you'll like Part 2 based on what you're up to. :)
