A thread for us to share our gratitude. Knowing that gratitude isn’t always just about the good stuff, but sometimes it comes as a gift that emerges from tough times.
In the midst of a catastrophic event, there are always stories from survivors who say, I’m just grateful that I… (fill in the blank for something even more unimaginably tragic).
Is it the folks who can find a crumb of gratitude even in their darkest times, who fare better over time? Who can find the resources to help someone else in need? Who sees abundance, when scarcity is omnipresent?
Probably.
This thread is for your crumbs of gratitude in the face of a bombardment of hard times, both at home and aboard.
This week I'm grateful for warmer weather and the half dozen sunflowers I planted in the garden. They are standing up and looking happy despite the thunderstorm we had yesterday. Oh and for the 4 black cockatoos who visited a nearby wattle while we ate dinner a couple of nights ago.
OMG, just as I was typing that, 4 black cockatoos just flew over making a racket. Were they the same 4?? Spooky.
I'm grateful for a toddler who has started toddling, strawberries in the garden and food on the table, the love of family and friends, and crumbs of goodness brought to my email via friendly people I haven't met yet
This week I'm grateful to have wrapped up / survived / thrived in 12 years of business with my husband Jared, and for the amazing local families who supported us to get here.
It's not totally wrapped up for us, but our public facing elements are now fond memories in the past, instead of looming large on our upcoming calendar. Holy moly, what an adventure.
Feel free to add your gratitude from the week to this Crumbs of Gratitude thread. 🌻
This Christmas I’m grateful to have a series of smaller, staggered Christmas gatherings; opportunities to connect, catch-up and celebrate with family and friends here and across the strait.
This week I am grateful for the plenitude of fruit cuttings, flower and vegetable seedlings I am able to plant in my garden and share with friends and community - and the warm spring weather in which to do so.
