Plunging in feet first, I’ve published my first YouTube video. It’s called Instagram vs YouTube [CALM WINTER STUDIO VLOG] in which I get up to all sorts of art-making and wintery activities, while a little awkwardly chatting through some thoughts on Instagram vs YouTube.
Behold…
Find it here too.
I've been looking at the big picture of my online ecosystem because I’m finding Instagram a noisy, overwhelming, less fruitful, less community-oriented place to be as a creator these days.
I have a few new ideas up my sleeve, but to start, maybe YouTube is a place where you can still connect with a community and make valuable, slower content.
I'm giving it a go to find out.
A few highlights from June’s vlog
Some lino printing, drawing Imaginationscapes and photography
A day out wood cutting and looking at fungi
Our winter solstice potluck party
Crocheting by the fire (an essential winter activity)
A trip to the Repair Cafe
A super cute loungeroom skillshare session, teaching some new friends how to visibly mend
Tellie and podcast recommendations are scattered throughout
It was a pretty fun experience to make, and much more low-fuss than I expected, so I think I’ll make another one for July and see where this takes me.
As they say in the biz: don’t forget to like and subscribe! Oh geez… it’s a whole new world. 🥴
Thanks for coming along on this journey with me.
Lovely! A very calming 10 minutes thanks :) I love how all of us are trying for slower, calmer saner spaces online.
So good Nat. Thanks for making this life a lot lovelier to live in x
