This is Temporarily Not Compost. They will be posts dispatched from my studio*, exploring intentional, meaningful + connected ways to live, work + advocate.
Asking eternal questions like what is enough? How does one focus? And did I remember to turn off the iron?
Plus things I’m working on + life at large.
I’m hoping to expand on my seasonal recommendation newsletters and blogging here.
So, the title of this newsletter, Temporarily Not Compost, was completely inspired by Molly Costello’s pin, find their deeply excellent art in their shop.
It’s a reminder that we are here, making our lives and our art (some would say those are the same thing) for such a nano-moment and that the atoms that make up our physical bodies will spend vastly more time on this planet being other things, like compost.
We are all temporarily not compost.
Isn’t that wild? And doesn't that make you feel like each day is pretty significant, and it’d be good to spend more of them more intentionally, meaningfully, and more connected to the people + nature around us? I kinda do.
Thanks for reading so far + stay tuned for dispatched as I figure out this platform.
* My studio is the west-facing front room of our home, where I spend time sewing (mainly quilts right now), stitching visible mending, editing photos, writing, sketching, and contemplating all the big and small stuff.
